Microneedling
Microneedling is based on the use of tiny needles to create micro-channels (tiny holes) in the skin. The process stimulates your skin’s natural ability to heal itself and, in the process, produces collagen and elastin. Microneedling effectively treats fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars, improves skin texture and color, and dramatically enhances the effectiveness of skincare products.
During the procedure, a motorized microneedling pen is used to create the micro-channels. The microneedling pen has an adjustable speed and can penetrate the skin up to one hundred times per second. Additionally, the depth of the needles can be easily adjusted to accommodate different areas of the face which may require different penetration levels. This procedure rejuvenates your skin providing a younger, firmer, and radiant appearance. Visible results may begin on the first day and continue for weeks afterward. As collagen levels continue to build up, your skin becomes more luminous and your complexion more even.
What happens during a Microneedling treatment?
1. To prepare for treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied before treatment to provide light numbing.
2. An organic facial serum will be applied. The microneedle pen is then used to create controlled microchannels, eliciting your body’s healing response.
3. Following treatment, your skin may appear pink or slightly red and may have a tingly sensation. This typically disappears after 12–24hrs. You will receive a patient aftercare kit to accelerate your recovery and results.
Results may appear after one treatment and will improve over a series of 3–6 monthly treatments. Results will continue to progress for several months after your last treatment. Results can last up to 5 years.
